Therme Skincare Cleopatra’s Secret Set | Honey and Aloë Vera

Therme Skincare Cleopatra’s Secret Set | Honey and Aloë Vera

Can we get Egypt to the Netherlands .. pretty please? I do not know what the weather is like where you are right now, but with all the snow and cold this winter I wouldn’t mind a bit more warmth and Egypt sounds perfect for that! With this set of Therme you can get Egypt in your house … or actually, on your skin! Then you have a soft and hydrated skin during these cold times at the very least. 😉

As the name of this set suggests, the Egyptian queen Cleopatra had ‘secrets’. And not just any secret, but her beauty rituals were her secrets. Because of her beauty Cleopatra was admired and that is not very strange, Cleopatra had a few very special beauty rituals. This Egyptian queen slept with a golden mask and bathed in milk with honey to soothe her skin. How interesting is that?! Maybe we could really learn something from those special rituals she used to do.

Although I was not a big fan of the honey-herbal mask that I had made last year, (you can read it here) I am a fan of products with honey as an ingredient. Honey is a good natural product to soothe and intensively nourish your skin. Very nice for dry and sensitive skin! Besides honey there are also aloe vera extracts in this set, this has an antibacterial effect on your skin and is very moisturizing. The combination certainly sounds exotic!

This set consists of samples from the Therme Skincare Cleopatra’s Secret line. So I have the cream shower, a body exfoliant and a body butter that takes care of your skin.

The cream shower creates a layer of foam on your skin when you take a shower with it. This shower cream leaves your skin feeling soft and nourished after use.

The body exfoliator is a gel-like substance that gently removes dead skin cells. This also stimulates a good blood circulation!

The body butter is enriched with honey extract, aloe vera and shea butter. The honey and aloe vera soothe the skin while the shea butter softens it. A nice combination if I may say so myself!

There are also bath pearls present in this sample set, which smell very nice. Unfortunately, I can not test these for you since I do not have a bathtub myself. They look very nice though!

What do I think of this set?

I have tested the products a few times and I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. Mainly the cream shower I find a very nice addition to my winter skincare routine. The other two products certainly meet my expectations as well! In addition, Therme Cleopatra’s Secrets has a peachy smell in my experience. I would describe this fragrance as a fresh but sweet floral scent. Certainly a striking smell if you compare them to the other fragrances of Therme.

Have you ever tried something from Therme before?

What’s better and nicer than a self-made face mask? It is still winter after all, and you want to be able to take good care of your skin. So why not use a face mask that is good for your skin and fun for your wallet! You decide which products you add from your own skincare routine and save money. And that is certainly a nice bonus with the holidays behind us. 😉

You can make your own mixture and determine what kind of mask it will be. Use your favorite facial care products to enrich your mask!

On AliExpress there are sheet masks for sale in a lot. For a few euros you have a bunch of sheet masks that you can use for a long time. In addition, you can make yourself a mixture of skin care products that you may already have in your home!

How does it work?

Mix your favorite serum and oil on a (clean) plate.

Then you put your ‘blank’ sheet mask on the board, in your own selfmade mixture. Leave the mask on the plate for a few minutes so that the mixture is absorbed by the sheet mask. Get your sheet mask off of the plate and you can put it on your face. You have just created your first own sheet mask! So much fun!

Put the mask on your face for about 20 to 30 minutes. Then you massage the rest of the mask on your face. If there is any excess mixture on the plate you can use it to moisturize your neck.

Personally, I like to make a moisturizing mask, for that reason I use a serum that gives my face a hydration boost. In addition to a serum, you can also add other products such as glycerin, castor oil or jojoba oil for even more effectiveness of your own personal sheet mask!

What kind of combination do you like for your sheet mask?
